The Canon PowerShot SX200 certainly contains a punch within its shell. There’s a 12 x 28-336 mm optical zoom lens, 12 megapixel CCD sensor, 3 " LCD screen, Digic 4 image processing engine, HD Movie Mode and ‘Smart Auto’ mode (Scene Detection Technology). The SX200 can fit inside the palm of a hand and although it’s a little bigger than other offerings the incredible 12x zoom lens (equivalent to a focal range 28-336mm on a 35mm SLR camera) makes up for it. It's able to capture photos in resolutions of 4,000 x 3,000 pixels, meaning you can make poster-size copies of your work without any image distortion.
The camera comes in a three funk colours including electric blue, sophisticated burgundy and classic black however the majority of stockists offer only the black version.

“Small camera, with big zoom and good selection of functions for the size of camera. Selects best mode automatically, but has a number of options to set and there is some scope for manual settings. “It takes amazing pictures. On my last camera I always had to set up the motion function to catch anything not standing still, but this captured a wallaby mid-bounce just on the auto function. I love the scroll wheel (especially when you need to find the pic you want quickly) and the fact that you can bulk erase selected pictures rather than having to do them one at a time, or erase the whole lot. The LCD screen is a good size, and once you've taken pics and rotate the camera in your hand, the pic moves round too, a bit like on an iPhone.”
